  1. There must be some kind of mistake.... My name's not on the list... This can't be right... Please double check... I'm sure it's just an oversight...

Seriously: Congratulations to the Chosen few. I'll be looking forward to reading you.

  2. Editors:
Any chance we can get some hard numbers? How many poems submitted / How many to the judges? Some of us like to keep track of the odds.

  3. Yeah, what Anonymous said.

  5. One poster asked for numbers. I created a more robust report in the past, and, time permitting, I'll try to do that again. But here's the raw data:

1,515 submissions with 1-2 poems in each
178 poems sent to guest editor
    And, 50 finalists selected

  6. Will the published anthology give the names of the journals in which the 50 winning poems originally appeared?

  7. Yes, we feature the names of any nomination source (magazines and writing programs) at the bottom of each poem and acknowledge prior publication sources in a list at the back of the book.

  8. It would be very helpful to know who were among the 178 sent to Claudia Emerson. At least that way we'd know if we might stand a chance in future years.

  9. Yes, it might be helpful, but take it from this old veteran: they won't do it.

Don't torture yourself with what "might have been."
